This is where you could see how many stars you have

Taking medication has always been a part of my daily routine and there is nothing I can really do about that. When you have a disability or chronic illness taking medication may be part of your daily routine too. If you don’t, then there is a possibility it could lead to more severe symptoms. I have a lot of medications that I have to take every day so I completely understand the struggles of remembering to take your medication. I have always struggled with remembering to take my medication and it was not until recently that I found a way to help me remember to take my medication.

After I was missing several doses of medication I knew I had to find another way to help me remember to take my medication. That is when I found the app DrugStars and I was immediately hooked! DrugStars is an app that will donate money to charity, each and every-time you take your medication. My disability makes it very difficult to donate to charity because I am unable to get in a car and drop something off. That is why I love this app. You can donate to charity from the comfort of your own home just by taking your medication! Some people may have a preference for the types of charities they want to donate to and is okay. With the DrugStars app you have different options to donate to different charities. You can donate to charities with a focus on cancer, headache disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, digestive disorders, diabetes, asthma, heart disease and many more!

I started using DrugStars because it was different from all the other medication reminder apps by using DrugStars you can donate to charity! How are you able to donate to charity just by taking your medication? It took a few minutes for me to figure out how it worked but overall it was not complicated. All you have to do is add your medication into the app and when it’s time to take it you will receive a star for it! You collect stars that you can donate to charity so it is almost like being rewarded for taking your medication! You have the ability to put in a time to take your medication but there is no ability to set an alarm so you know when it’s time to take it. This is one of the things that I believe could be helpful because if you are taking multiple medications at different times it is easy to forget to take your medication. Having the ability to add the dosage of your medication would also be helpful because if you are on multiple different medications remembering all the dosages can sometimes be difficult!

Before I started DrugStars I was not very consistent with taking my medication so I was feeling pretty lousy all the time! After I started using the DrugStars app, I was able to manage my medication better and many of the symptoms I was having from not taking my medication went away because I was able to get on a better schedule.

I have tried different apps and even pillboxes and they have all worked for a short period of time but then I get bored or I think to myself what’s the point! DrugStars gives me a reason to want to take my medication because every time I do I have the opportunity to donate to charity!

If you find you are having difficulty with taking your medication and you need to find a different method, there is not one method that is going to work for everybody. Some people need something to look forward to when doing something that is not exactly fun. If you are one of those people who needs something to look forward to in order to remember to do them, try DrugStars! With DrugStars, you are able to win prizes with your stars and most apps I’ve come across do not give you this opportunity. If you have any questions about why you should try DrugStars please leave them in the comments below.
